Sleep and sleep disorders

Submission status

Submission deadline

Sleep is a major determinant of physical and mental health and, conversely, sleep deficiency is associated with a variety of clinical conditions including cardiovascular diseases and psychiatric and cognitive disorders. Sleep disorders are prevalent in both children and adults and are even more common in special populations, often having an impact on individuals’ well-being and quality of life. Thus, research on sleep may have important clinical, psychological, and social implications.

This Collection welcomes original research studies using behavioural, electrophysiological, and neuroimaging methods to investigate sleep and sleep disorders in children, adults, and special populations. Sleep-based intervention studies are also welcome.

This Collection supports and amplifies research related to SDG 3.
