Abstract
THE presidential address of Dr. H. Shaw, director of the Science Museum, London, to the Museums Association has been published in the Museums Journal of August 1949, under the title of “The Science Museum and its Public”. Dr. Shaw attempts an interesting analysis of the yearly million visitors to his Museum. He states that children form 25—30 per cent of the total, and affirms that the initiation of the children's Gallery some twenty years ago where children are allowed to display natural exuberance is a complete success.
