Editorial Profile: Pediatric Research is for the pediatrician, pediatric specialist, and developmental biologist. Its purpose is to present current research and high quality reviews dealing with the biochemical, physiological and structural aspects of human development and developmental biology.

Closing Dates: The deadline for ad placement is the 15th of the 2nd month prior to the month of publication.

Printing Requirements: Negatives, mechanicals or camera-ready copy. If you would like us to typeset your ad, there is an additional fee, as follows: 1/8 page-$25, 1/4 page-$45, 1/2 page-$60, 1 page-$85.

Charles E. Culpeper Foundation Scholarships in Medical Science

The Charles E. Culpeper Foundation is currently accepting applications for its Year 2000 Scholarships in Medical Science Program designed to support the career development of academic physicians.

Up to four awards of $100,000 per year for three years will be made to United States medical schools or equivalent United States educational institutions on behalf of candidates who are U.S. citizens or aliens who have been granted permanent U.S. residence (proof required); who have received their M.D. degree from a U.S. medical school or the equivalent of an M.D. degree from an educational institution equivalent to a United States Medical School in 1991 or later (except under extraordinary circumstances, as approved by the Foundation); and who are judged worthy of support by virtue of the quality of their research proposals. All scientific research relevant to human health is eligible for consideration. No institution may nominate more than one candidate.

In selecting awardees, emphasis will be on identifying young physicians with clear potential for making substantial contributions to science as academic physicians. Since January 1988, 37 physicians have been selected as Charles E. Culpeper foundation Medical Scholars.

Head Start's Fifth National Research Conference

The Administration on Children, Youth and Families, Department of Health and Human Services, in collaboration with Columbia University and the Society for Research in Child Development announces Head Start's Fifth National Research Conference, Developmental and Contextual Transitions of Children and Families: Implications for Research, Policy and Practice. The Conference will be held June 28-July 1, 2000 in Washington, D.C.
