To the Editor: We are very thankful for our colleagues in Colombia's thoughtful response1 to our article.2 We plan to review these suggestions with our own faculty, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine leadership, and—through the publication of your thoughtful response—the international readership of Genetics in Medicine. It interesting to hear the ways in which cultural and medical context influence teaching about genetics. Addressing language communication issues, teaching about genetic variation as well as variation in accessible technologies and public health approaches, and collaborating internationally and at home to lessen health disparities are important issues in medical genetics.
