38 children treated with growth hormone between october 1978 and march 1994 have reached the adultness. 8 boys had total growth hormone insufficiency and 16 boys and 14 girls partial GH insufficiency. The dose of GH utilized was 0.4 to 0.6 U/kg/sem. The time of treatment was 4±2 years. The results are expressed in mean ± SD and the Student Test for paired series Table

Table 1

A positive correlatiton was found between final height and SDS at the beginning of the treatment in boys and girls with partial GH insufficiency(r=0.46 y 0.45) but not in complete GH insufficiency (r=0.2); between adult height and genetic target in partial GH insufficiency boys-girls(r=0.5-0.7) but not for complete GH insufficiency (r=0.089). Although the age of the patients at the beginning of the treatment was old, those with total insufficiency and boys and girls with partial insufficiency gain 35.1, 23.6 and 17.2 cm respectively.
