Correction to: Communications Earth & Environment https://doi.org/10.1038/s43247-020-00063-w, published online 08 December 2020.
The original version of this manuscript contained an error in the temperature values related to the sea level correction. In the original, incorrect version, the conversion of −0.064‰ per meter of sea level rise was applied incorrectly to the fluid inclusion hydrogen isotope values, resulting in errors in the calculated mean annual temperature values.
These values have been corrected in both the PDF and HTML versions of the Article in the following places:
In the fourth sentence of the Abstract the correct version states “4.3 °C” in place of “4.0 °C”.
In the twelfth sentence in the Introduction the correct version states “4.3 °C” in place of “4.0 °C”.
In the eighth sentence of the Results section the correct version states “4.6 °C” in place of “4.0 °C”.
In the ninth sentence of the Results section the correct version states “5.1 and 6.4 °C” in place of “4.7 and 6.1 °C”.
In the eleventh sentence of the Results section the correct version states “1.4 °C” and “1.0 °C” in place of “1.5 °C” and “0.8 °C” respectively.
In the thirteenth sentence of the Results section the correct version states “1.4 °C” in place of “1.3 °C”.
In the first sentence of the Discussion section the correct version states “4.3” in place of “4.0”.
In the third sentence of the Discussion section the correct version states “3.6” and “4.3” in place of “3.4” and “4.0” respectively.
In the thirtieth sentence of the Discussion section the correct version states “0.5 to 1.8” instead of “0.8 to 2.0”.
The same issue resulted in errors in the original version of Fig. 2.
The correct version of Fig. 2 is:
which replaces the previous incorrect version:
The same issue also resulted in errors in the original version of Fig. 3.
The correct version of Fig. 3 is:
which replaces the previous incorrect version:
The original version of this manuscript contained an error in the fourth sentence of the caption of Fig. 2 which incorrectly read “Red dashed line is 0.65‰/°C (triangles), while bounding black dashed lines represent 0.6‰/°C (squares) and 0.7‰/°C (circles) transfer functions.” The correct version states “(circles)” in place of “(squares)” and “(squares)” in place of “(circles)”.
These errors have been corrected in both the PDF and HTML versions of the Article.
The same issue resulted in an error in the original version of Supplementary Fig. 4 in the Supplementary Information associated with this Article in which the values plotted as “modern Grimsel Pass-MWL relationship (Pearson R = 0.9” were incorrect.
The correct version of Supplementary Fig. 4 is:
which replaces the previous incorrect version:
The HTML has been updated to include a corrected version of the Supplementary Information.
The original version of the Supplementary Information associated with this Article included an incorrect Supplementary Data 2 file, in which incorrect values were given in lines 5–7 and lines 9–20 of the spreadsheet. The HTML has been updated to include a corrected version of Supplementary Data 2; the original incorrect version of Supplementary Data 2 and the corrected version of Supplementary Data 2 can be found as Supplementary Information associated with this Correction.
