This year's winners are Amanda Bloomfield, Sally Ellsworth, Laura McClune and Robyn Spencer and we hope to include further details about their planned research in an upcoming issue of BDJ Team.

Colgate and the Oral & Dental Research Trust (ODRT) first partnered in 2004 to offer Professionals Complementary to Dentistry (PCDs) the opportunity to conduct clinical research projects. The aim of these new awards was then, and still remains to support investigations of clinical relevance, particularly in the field of preventive care.

The name of the awards changed to the Colgate DCP Research Awards in 2005, to reflect the mandatory registration of Dental Care Professionals (DCPs) involved in clinical activity. In 2017, the name of the awards changed again to honour Professor Robin Davies' contribution to dental research.

A maximum of four awards of £5,000 each for research conducted by DCPs will be made in 2025 and applications will open from 1 October 2024 and close on 7 February 2025. A second BDJ Team DCP Research issue will be published in autumn 2024. If you are a DCP student or practising dental professional and would like to send a summary of your research for inclusion in this issue, please email k.quinlan@nature.com or submit through our website:www.nature.com/bdjteam(select ‘Submit manuscript').
