Experimental determination of interacting sequences in ribosomal RNA

Abstract

An approach is described for determining secondary structure in large RNA molecules, in which families of short interacting RNA fragments are isolated and identified as such by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. Data covering over half of the 16S ribosomal RNA from Escherichia coli are presented, including two long-range interactions.
