Empirical relationship for the critical temperature of some A15 superconductors

Abstract

A NEW, empirical relationship1, which links the Tc of A15 superconductors—based on the A3B stoichiometric ratio—with the atomic mass, MB, of the B element, indicated that log Tc is a linear function of log MB and that high Tc values can be predicted if MB is small. A B element is from group IVB (Si, Ge and Sn) and an A element is from group VA (V, Nb and Ta).
