Survival of Unmodified Spleen Allografts in Rats

Abstract

LABORATORY models which provide for reproducible acceptance of organ allografts with neither preoperative conditioning or postoperative immunosuppression of recipient animals are rare. In pigs, however, liver allografts are generally accepted even if histocompatibility differences are strong1–3; and indefinite acceptance of renal allografts in rats across major Ag-B barriers has been described4.
