Chemical and Mechanical Requirements for Fibroblast Adhesion

Abstract

HERE I show that fibroblasts do not adhere to a rigid hydrophobic or yielding hydrophilic surface. There are three aspects ; clean surfaces, the smallness of the adhesion sites, and mechanical stresses exerted by the cell.
