We read with interest the letter by Chee et al1 reporting a case of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) with a fatal myelo-dysplastic syndrome developing during imatinib mesylate therapy and characterized by the emergence of Philadelphia (Ph)-negative clones harboring a complex karyotype with a 5q−. We would like to describe a further patient with very similar features.
