Abstract
THE purpose of this communication is to report a change in rate of the parahydrogen conversion if the catalyst is placed in a magnetic field of a few oersteds. The change is a decrease of several per cent, and it has been observed over Pr2O3, Nd2O3, Sm2O3 and Yb2O3. It has not so far been observed over Eu2O3, Gd2O3, Tb2O3, Dy2O3, Ho2O3, Er2O3 or Tm2O3. But Tb2O3 supported at low surface concentration on high-area Al2O3 shows the effect.
