Abstract
AN annually varying factor is one of the numerous variables that have been found to influence pigeon homing1,2. We have extended previous experiments (unpublished results of K. S.-K.) by keeping constant a number of variables such as site, distance and direction of release, experience of the animals and sample size, and have obtained a quantitative account of the annual fluctuation. In previous experiments some of these variables had to be compensated mathematically and post factum1.
