Energy Transfer from Excited Gaseous Molecules to Solids

Abstract

ENERGY transfers between atoms or molecules in a homogeneous gas phase and in solid phases have been known for a long time1,2. Numerous applications of this effect have been made recently in gas lasers. It is surprising that, as far as we know, no record of a similar phenomenon between gases and solids can be found.
