Abstract
IT was reported earlier1 that a new compound of the approximate molar composition (2CaO.SiO2)5.6(3CaO.MgO.2SiO2)4.4 had been located in the system 2CaO.SiO2–3CaO.MgO.2SiO2. This system, relevant to processes in the iron, slag and slag cement industries, has now been fully explored and the stable phase assemblages between the new compound and adjoining compounds have been established. The results are presented in the phase diagram given in Fig. 1.
