Oxidase-like Activity of the Copper (II) Poly-L-histidine Complex

Abstract

SYNTHETIC polyamino-acids have been shown to be instructive protein models1. It seems reasonable to assume that their combination with metal ions exhibits some resemblance to metalloproteins. This possibility was investigated by examining the catalytic activity of complexes of copper with polyamino-acids.
