Abstract
IN recent discussions1–6 the use of 15-MeV neutrons resulting from the D-T reaction has been suggested for the radiotherapy of tumours. As pointed out by Fowler7 in this respect, two opposing factors play a part in estimates of the possible value of neutrons of various energies, namely, their penetration into tissue and their oxygen enhancement ratio (OER).
