Abstract
DURING an investigation of the influence of tissue xanthine oxidase concentration on the corresponding steady-state levels of hypoxanthine plus xanthine in rat liver (cf. Haddow et al.1), the recovery of added xanthine, hypoxanthine and uric acid was found to be low.
