Abstract
VARIATIONS in the electrophoretic mobilities of hæmoglobin have been described in many species of sub-human primates1–6. A colony of 524 Macaca mulatta and 13 Macaca nemestrina was surveyed for hæmoglobin types by filter paper electrophoresis. Two animals within the group had physical characteristics which combined features of both M. mulatta and M. nemestrina. These animals were purchased from the Miami Rare Bird Farm, Kendall, Florida, as part of a group of M. nemestrina.
