Abstract
ACCORDING to a hypothesis presented in a previous communication1 a tonic information from hepatic glucoreceptors might be stimulating the lateral hypothalamic ‘feeding centre’. The reduction of this excitatory input by an increase of intracellular glucose (or some related metabolite) in the hepatic cells would inhibit intake of food.
