Abstract
A THREE-YEAR investigation into the ecology of the cirratulid worm, Cirriformia tentaculata (Montagu), occurring on an inter-tidal mud-flat in Southampton Water, failed to reveal any trace of pelagic larval stages. These free-swimming stages have been shown by Wilson1 to exist in a population of worms from Drake's Island.
