Method for Distinguishing between Human and Mouse Cells in Tissue Cultures

Abstract

IN recent years it has become apparent that a cell strain grown in vitrocan very easily become contaminated with, and in time perhaps overgrown by, cells of another strain. It is possible to determine at least the species from which the cells have originated; but the available procedures are elaborate and time-consuming.
