Aspartic Transcarbamylase from Lettuce Seedlings: Case of End-Product Inhibition

Abstract

ASPARTIC transcarbamylase (ATC-ase) an enzyme which catalyses the carbamylation of aspartic acid by carbamylphosphate (CAP) to yield carbamyl-aspartic acid (CA) is known in micro-organisms and animals1. Its presence in higher plants has been mentioned1 but, so far, has not been investigated to any extent.
