Effect of Chlorinated Hydrocarbon Insecticides on Insect Choline Acetylase, Condensing Enzyme and Acetylkinase

Abstract

THE role of acetylcholine in the transmission of nerve impulses is by no means as well established in insects1,2 as it is in mammals, but the presence in insect nervous tissue of large quantities of acetylcholine3 and of enzymes capable of its rapid synthesis4 and hydrolysis5 is clearly established.
