Abstract
IN a previous paper1 we reported the isolation and identification of three crystalline compounds from the inflorescence of Helichrysum arenarium. We isolated from the alcoholic extract the salipurposide, naringenin-5-glucoside (5,7,4′-trihydroxyflavanone-5-glucoside), C21H22O10·2H2O, m.p. 219–224°, yield 0.25 per cent, acetyl derivative m.p. 174–177°. Until then, this flavanone glucoside had been found only in Salix purpurea and Acacia floribunda.
