Abstract
THE examination of a numerically large collection of two species of Umbellula from the Swedish Deep-Sea Expedition1 implied that many of the specific criteria hitherto employed would have to be dropped. Later investigation of an interesting series of antarctic and subantarctic specimens from the Discovery collections, together with a revision of the collections of Umbellula kept in the British Museum, has confirmed this assumption.
