Abstract
A NECESSARY step in the enzymatic inactivation of Δ4-3-ketosteroids, for example hydrocortisone, is the reduction of ring A 1,2. Evidence that this process may be accelerated in thyrotoxicosis in man has been presented by Levin3 and Peterson4. Because of this, the influence of thyroxin administration on the enzymatic reactions involved in the reduction was studied.
