Abstract
FLUORINE absorption from drinking water during the period of calcification of the teeth has long been correlated with mottling of the dental enamel1. In East Africa the excessive amounts of fluorine in some drinking waters have become a matter for urgent consideration2; but little is known of fluorine distribution in West African waters.
