Abstract
In studying the propagation of stress waves through solids, small quantities of explosive have been used to produce sharp stress pulses. In this work it was found that a small electrical disturbance starting at the instant of detonation could be detected; and since this appeared to have been produced by the explosion products, some separate experiments were carried out to investigate the effect.
