Abstract
DURING the treatment of anæmias, one frequently observes a decrease of hæmoglobin index, the increase of hæmoglobin often lagging to a greater or lesser extent behind the rise in the number of red cells. The action of folic acid or vitamin B12 on erythropoiesis in normal rabbits presented a particularly favourable opportunity for the analysis of this phenomenon, which, so far as we know, has not yet been the subject of a thorough study.
