Abstract
IN 1946, Sabet1 has recorded the occurrence of bacterial root-nodules in the Zygophyllaceæ. His work was mainly concerned with a study of the growth response, as well as stimulation of nodule-formation, of Zygophyllum coccineum in either sterilized or unsterilized soil. No work has been done, however, to carry out cross-inoculation experiments with the isolated zygophyllaceous bacterial organisms in relation to either different genera of the same family (that is, Zygophyllaceæ) or to those of Leguminosæ.
