Restitution of Plasma Sodium by the ‘Glucocorticosteroid’ Compound E in Adrenalectomized Rats

Abstract

IN biological assays, preference is usually given to methods which reveal most specifically the differences of action of chemically related compounds. This procedure is justified whenever the aim of an experiment is the identification or quantitative estimation of different agents. However, it involves the serious risk that divergent aspects are over-emphasized and regarded as the essential features of the respective agents, whereas the points of similarity are overlooked.
