Abstract
AN earlier communication1 gave the results of measurements of the cross-section for the photo-disintegration of the deuteron by gamma-rays of 6.1 and 17.6 MeV. These measurements have been extended to other gamma-ray energies with the object (1) of determining whether the form of the variation of cross-section with energy is in accord with the theoretical prediction and (2) of measuring the effective range for triplet neutron–proton interaction2–4.
