Abstract
THE First International Congress of Biochemistry, initiated by the (British) Biochemical Society, which was held in Cambridge during August 19–25, was opened in the Senate House of the University by the president, Prof. A. C. Chibnall Viscounet Addison, Lord Privy Seal, welcome the members on behalf of the Government, and Dr. E. C. Raven, the vice-chancellor, on behalf of the University.
