Abstract
PERCY EDWABD NJWTBERRY, who died at his home at Hascombe, near Godalming, on August 7, was the doyen of British Egyptologists. The youngest son of H. J. Newserry of Ealing, he was born on April 23, 1869, and educated at King's College School and King's college, London. While still at school, at the age of fifteen, he came under the spell of Ancient Egypt, which was to dominate all the rest of his long life.
