Abstract
THE presidential address by Prof. R. A. Peters to Section I (Physiology) is concerned with the biochemistry and biophysics of the cell, and forms the introduction to a series of addresses upon nucleoproteins by Prof. J.N. Davidson, upon lipoproteins by Prof. A. C. Frazer, upon cell structure by Dr. R. Barer and upon sea urchins by M. Swann. The subject is approached from the standpoint of pharmacology, and is thus in line with that given by Cushny at Newcastle in 1916.
