Abstract
OUR investigations of synthetic polypeptides, which have been proceeding concurrently with, although independently of, those described by Astbury and Dalgliesh1, were also inspired by the announcement of the discovery of a benzene-soluble co-polymer prepared from anhydro-N-carboxy-DL-β-phenylalanine and L-leucine by Woodward and Schramm2 using the Leuchs polymerization3.
