Abstract
IT has recently been shown1 that the theoretical expression for the viscosity of a liquid derived from Born and Green‘s2 general kinetic theory of liquids consists of two parts, one due to the thermal motion of the molecules and the other to molecular attraction (that is, a volume effect). The latter effect greatly predominates.
