Abstract
WITH reference to the letter from Dr. T. T. Paterson under the title "Earliest Known Prehistoric Industry"1, I wish to express my indebtedness to him for having brought his new discoveries for my examination at home, so that I could compare them with my collection of natural flakings. I have been familiar with patches of intensive flaking below the Wey-bourne Crag for many years2. On some I have counted 50 per cent of flaking among the stones—a not unusual frequency.
