Abstract
I am afraid I disagree with Dr. Vajda's comments1 on the analysis of variance technique appropriate to two–way tables with unequal frequencies in the different sub-classes. As I pointed out in the paper referred to2, the expressions for the efficient estimates of the ‘main’ effects of the two variables are different according as interactions are assumed to exist or not.
