Abstract
‘Clarase’*, an enzymatic preparation containing mainly amylase and in smaller amounts maltase, protease, peptidase, lipase and other enzymes, has now been shown to possess sulphatase activity. This sulphatase appears to be mainly phenolsulphatase. Other sulphatases (glucosulphatase1, chondrosulphatase2 and myrosisnase3) from various sources have been described by different authors.
