Science and Technology in the North-West of China

Abstract

THE previous five articles in this series1–5, designed to acquaint the scientific workers and technologists of the English-speaking world with the present war-time work and conditions of their Chinese colleagues, dealt first with south-west China (Yunnan Province) and then with western China (Szechuan Province). We nave now to report on China's great and undeveloped north-west (the provinces of Shensi* and Kansu).
