Abstract
ON January 3, the Royal Society of London convened a short session at the University of Delhi prior to the opening of the Indian Science Congress by the Viceroy of India, Lord Wavell. This is the first time during the nearly three hundred years of its existence that the Royal Society has held a meeting outside London. Prof. A. V. Hill, who is visiting India in connexion with scientific aspects of the. war effort, had, been appointed o vice-president for the occasion.
