LEET has made an important contribution to this topic by his initiation of a hypothesis concerning the beginnings of the New Hampshire earthquakes of December 20 and 24, 1940, in the Ossipee Mountains district (“Mechanics of Earthquakes where there is no Surface Faulting”, by L.
