Abstract
MR. GEORGE CHRISTOPHER LLOYD, secretary of the Iron arid Steel Institute during 1909-33, who died on July 10 at the age of eighty-one, was trained as an engineer, and after completing his apprenticeship spent some years with the Spanish Compañia Transatlantica. He had been at school in Germany, and the knowledge of languages which he gained in his studies and travels was a great asset to him in his later activities.
