Abstract
THE sudden death of Charles Davies Sherborn on June 22, within a week of his eighty-first birthday, came as a shock to his many friends. The staff and other workers at the British Museum (Natural History), with which he was continually associated since 1886, will mourn the loss of a distinguished and much-loved colleague, and will sadly miss the inspiration of an outstanding personality.
