Abstract
THE forestry question is indisputably one of extreme importance in the United States, as the increasing number of books on the subject testify. Some of these have been published in the American Forestry Series of which Walter Mulford is consulting editor. One of the latest is a volume dealing with the economics of private forestry by Dr. Ralph W. Marquis, assistant professor of economics, University of Rochester, New York, which is original in treatment.
