Abstract
THE Most Reverend Cardinal Arthur Hinsley, Archbishop of Westminster ; Prof. J. Chadwick, professor of physics in the University of Liverpool ; and Sir Richard Livingstone, president of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, since 1933 and Vice-Chancellor of the Queen's University, Belfast, in 1924–1933, have been elected members of the Athenaeum under the provisions of the rule of the club which empowers the annual election by the Committee of a certain number of persons of distinguished eminence in science, literature, the arts, or for their public services.
