Abstract
(1) HPHE popularity of “Kraus and Hunt”, first published in 1920, has led to the appearance of a third edition and the enrolment of a third author. Some sixty further illustrations have been added to an already lavishly illustrated book, and there is additional material on physical properties, the polarizing microscope, crystal structure and X-ray analysis, and the formation and occurrence of minerals.
